Malawi amends its Constitution to comply with Article 2 of the African Children's Charter.

The Parliament of the Republic of Malawi, on 15 February 2017, passed an amendment to the Constitution of Malawi to provide for a child to be anyone below the age of 18 years. With this move, all the provisions on the age of a child in Malawian law have been harmonized.

Humanitarian visit to the sapele remand home.

Members and volunteers of the African Child Foundation yesterday paid a humanitarian visit to the sapele remand home. The members were led on the visit by the country director of the foundation Mr Donald Onosakponome. During the visit, food items, school bags and books , and toiletries were donated to inmates. The director and some members who spoke during the visit advised the inmates not to despair but to be of good conduct to the society.
